Here’s a select passage from John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath that I think is iconic of the Great Depression in the United States, back in the 30s.
It’s very dramatic, very fun to read, and is much better at the end than at the beginning.
I’m still learning about uploading and editing videos, so it hasn’t got very good production values (all in one take, for example), but I think the material stands up for itself.
